Legal Billing Clerk (Remote)
Are you a detail-oriented, organized professional with experience in legal billing? We're seeking a Legal Billing Clerk with a background in IOLTA trust accounts to join our growing team. This fully remote role offers flexibility while allowing you to play a vital part in our billing and accounting functions.
Position Overview: As a Legal Billing Clerk, you'll be responsible for generating invoices, processing credit memos, and managing customer payments. You'll keep accounting records accurate and up to date while handling customer inquiries with professionalism. Additionally, you'll assist in creating financial reports, ensuring all information is clear and organized for our accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:
Generate and issue invoices for customer billing.
Process credit memos and prepare detailed account statements.
Track outstanding payments, follow up with customers, and respond to billing queries.
Monitor incoming payments and compile monthly billing reports.
Manage account balances, resolving any inconsistencies with accuracy.
Assist the accounting department in preparing regular financial reports.
Keep accounting records updated with invoices, payments, balances, and customer information.
Role Details:
Remote within the U.S.: This position is available to U.S.-based candidates only.
Flexible Hours: While the role allows for some evening and weekend work, approximately 50% of your hours should fall within the regular business hours of 8 am - 6 pm PST, Monday through Friday.
Tools: We use Practice Panther, Basecamp, Google Drive, and Lawmatics, so you'll need a reliable internet connection. Communication with clients and the team happens via RingCentral, so a computer with a webcam and headset is essential.
About the Schedule: This position will start with full-time hours for the first couple of months as we onboard you and meet initial needs. After this period, the role may transition to part-time. However, with our current growth, there may be opportunities for additional hours and responsibilities in the future.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience as a billing clerk or similar role, ideally within a legal setting
Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks and familiarity with accounting standards
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and solid math skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
