Resident Monitor Location Los Angeles, CA (Downtown area) :
Resident Monitor Level: Experienced Job Location: U.S. VETS Maryland - Temple Hills, MD Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Job Shift: Job Category: Admin - Clerical Description This position reports directly to the Emergency Housing Program Coordinator and is responsible for ensuring program and facility safety and monitoring resident movement of U.S.VETS Emergency Housing facilities, where designated. The Resident Monitor is required to live at the housing location to which he/she is assigned, in a residential unit designated by U.S.VETS. FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Responsibilities: Client Monitoring - Performs and documents daily shift activities as required by program policies, contract stipulations and professional standards
- Assesses and responds appropriately to resident behaviors, attitudes and dispositions
- Supervises and monitors resident movement, activity and rule compliance
- Provides input and feedback to Emergency Housing Case Manager (EHCM) and Emergency Housing Program Coordinator (EHPC) related to resident program, treatment and/or transition plans
- Responsible for tenants assigned to housing program ensuring that each individual adheres to housing policies and regulations put forth by U.S.VETS
Program & Facility Safety & Cleanliness - Provides oversight of yard upkeep, cleanliness of house, limited food preparation, neighborhood relations, and safety of house and tenants.
- Assess, evaluate, and report if necessary internal and external facility conditions for safety, sanitation and security concerns
- Carries out the Emergency and Disaster Preparedness procedures where necessary
- Assists the program in the preparation for all inspections and/or internal/external audits
- Reports any repairs or issues with tenant/house immediately to U.S.VETS staff; adhering to the U.S.VETS work order policy
Other Responsibilities & Requirements - Resident Monitor (RM) is required to be physically at the housing location during all regularly scheduled work hours as designated by U.S.VETS, which may vary depending on the program Case Managers (CM) schedule. Resident Monitor shall also be assigned on-call hours, to be specified on their Resident Monitor Agreement.
- On-Call Hours:
- Refrains from use or possession of intoxicating substances or illicit drugs while on the premises
- Carries cell phone, which will be provided for 24/7 emergency telephone. Resident Monitor must return calls and forward information to U.S.VETS Emergency Housing Case Manager within 24 hours of the call
- Informs the Emergency Housing Program Coordinator if planning on taking extended time off, which is defined as more than 3 consecutive days away from the property. Resident Monitor must provide U.S.VETS with 14 days notice before such time.
- Attends and completes staff trainings as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma, or equivalent is required
- College course work, continuing education and/or training in the human service field preferred
- Basic computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and other applications
- Effective oral and written communication skills
