Position: Billing Clerk (Fully Remote)

Are you a detail-oriented, organized individual with experience handling IOLTA trust accounts? We are seeking a reliable Billing Clerk to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer payments, issuing invoices, processing credit memos, and updating accounting records. Your contributions will support the smooth functioning of the accounting department and help ensure that our financial operations run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner.
Process credit memos and prepare account statements for clients.
Follow up on outstanding payments and address customer queries professionally.
Monitor all payments and prepare detailed monthly billing reports.
Manage customer account balances and resolve any inconsistencies.
Assist the accounting team with the preparation of financial reports.
Update accounting records, including new payments, issued invoices, balances, and customer contact information.

Position Structure and Hours:
This is a remote position available to U.S. residents.
Initially, this role will require a significant commitment in hours, with a transition to part-time work as the company continues to grow. Specific hours are flexible, with approximately 50% of work time required during regular business hours (8am - 6pm PST, Monday to Friday). Some evening and weekend work may be needed during peak periods.
A reliable internet connection is required, as the team utilizes tools such as Practice Panther, Basecamp, Google Drive, and Lawmatics.
Candidates must have a webcam and headset, as communication with clients and the team will take place via RingCentral.

Key Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience as a billing clerk or in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Strong understanding of accounting principles, legal regulations, and IOLTA trust accounts.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Exceptional math skills and a keen attention to detail.
