This position is posted at Vet Tech levels 1, 2 and 3. Level is determined by qualifications based on type of prior veterinary tech experience.
To qualify for Level 1: Entry level, new CVT grad or awaiting to sit for the CVT exam, or some CVT working experience with no specialization. To qualify for Level 2: Generally over 2 years of veterinary tech experience, may substitute years of experience for specialization. To qualify for Level 3: Veterinary Tech Specialist (VTS), or highly qualified and specialized in a specific area, may have prior experience from another university hospital. Preferred

UW Veterinary Care Anesthesia department has multiple CVT openings! Shifts of 8-12 hrs/day generally available Monday-Friday 8am-6:30pm. Work only the hours required during your shift-no more working late! Approximately 2-4 on-call shifts for emergency cases required per month by the department.
Overtime plus night and weekend shift differentials for on-call hours worked. On-call pay of $2.25/hr as well as $50 lump sum payment for each emergency case while on-call. Sign on bonus of 5% of base pay (based on FTE) to be paid quarterly over the first year of employment (Minimum of $1800+ for Veterinary Technicians)!
Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently and physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks.
