VCA Midwest Veterinary Referral & Emergency Centeris seeking full-time Veterinary Assistant - Emergency & Critical Care to join our skilled technician team at our AAHA-accredited, 24 hour emergency/multi-specialty practice in Omaha, NE

Requirements
Minimum 2 year of experience in veterinary medicine preferred but not required. Preference will be given to candidates with veterinary medicine experience.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is friendly, outgoing, people - oriented and has excellent communication and client service skills.
Please note that this position is full time and requires the ability to work rotations that includes regular days, nights, swings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
Assists with patient restraint
Cleaning, tidying, restocking and organization of treatment areas.
Assists both clients and patient - lifting, cleaning up after pets etc.
Observes and maintains the cleanliness and well-being of hospitalized patients; communicates updates on patients to technician staff.
Assists doctors and nurses with procedures upon request and as state law allows.
Checks animals in cages to make sure bedding is clean. Changes litter boxes and walks dogs as needed.
Prepares and serves food to patients as instructed.
Helps restrain animals for blood draws, IV catheters, ultrasounds, x-rays, treatments, and examinations.
Prepares laboratory samples for courier pick up and assists in running in house lab work.
Maintains clean treatment tables and exam rooms so that they can accommodate the next patient.
Helps to maintain hospital organization and cleanliness.
