BRG Server Job Description:

As a server, you are expected to treat each guest as if they are being welcomed into your own home. To provide the best possible guest experience, you must be friendly and attentive, possess a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of all menus, and have excellent communication skills. It is essential to the job that you can adjust to the needs of each guest, be flexible, and willing to go the extra mile. Additionally, you will maintain open communication with the kitchen and management staffs, keep the restaurant and work stations clean and organized, and always help where help is needed.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Follow Company service standards, as well as restaurant steps of service, at all times
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work well with other team members
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the workplace while treating guests and coworkers with respect 
  • Follow company uniform and appearance guidelines
  • Arrive to work on time, in uniform and prepared for your shift.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of food and beverage menus. Stay up to date on menu changes.
  • Some Wine Knowledge: Ability to distinguish between types of wine and recommend types based on guest preferences. Ability to make recommendations on types of wine with food pairings. 
  • Abide by state liquor laws, including maintaining a current Louisiana Responsible Vendor’s Permit. 
  • Properly utilize and operate POS system to enter orders and/or process transactions. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously while maintaining drink service, food service, bussing, etc, without excessive errors. 
  • Practice step consolidation and is efficient with time management.
  • Maintain a continual eye for detail.
  • Properly set-up your assigned station and perform all opening side work completely. Additionally, be able to perform any on-going side work throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a clean work environment throughout the shift. Wiping down all surfaces and keeping server stations clean and organized. 
  • Complete closing side work and station break down before leaving the restaurant.
  • Perform the processing of all credit card and/or cash checks while organizing and keeping track of close out slips.
  • Work efficiently and complete required tasks within assigned time frame.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and participate in a meaningful way.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, preferred.
  • ATC Responsible Vendor’s License
  • Basic math and computer/tablet skills.
  • Ability to stay professional in a stressful work environment. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional manner.
  • Superb multitasking skills and an eye for detail.
  • Available to work different hours including weekends, days, nights, and holidays.
  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
  • Ability to uphold company standards relating to appearance and dress.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong task and time management abilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods (eight or more hours). Able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight up to 50 lbs. Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to eight hours per day. Able to reach above head and shoulder levels. Able to twist, kneel, bend and crawl. Able to squat and crouch. Able to perform sweeping motion, front-to-back and side-to-side. Able to work in confined spaces. Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals. Able to climb stairs and ladders.
