Job Description
The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Inspect work in accordance with IPC-J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies), IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies), and document non-conformances.
- Collect and evaluate metrics and report findings to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Complete internal audits. Report non-conformances and guide managers through the corrective action process.
- Monitor the status of calibrated tools and test equipment.
- Review documentation and records such as drawings and work orders.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $23.99.
This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Chesapeake, VA or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - High school diploma and at least 4 years of related experience
- Cable fabrication experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
- Attentive to detail
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with measuring devices such as meters and calipers
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Military Quality Assurance experience, specifically past experience as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, TipQA
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 & AS9100 Quality Management Systems
- Experience in J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
- Production/Manufacturing experience
Pay Information This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
