The Corso-Díaz Lab at Stanford School of Medicine is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and talented Life Science Research Professional (LSRP) 1 or 2 to join our research efforts in understanding fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation in retinal neurons and contributing to treatments for blinding diseases.
As an LSRP, you'll become an integral part of a new dynamic team, working under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. You will manage essential lab operations and conduct cutting-edge experiments in gene regulation. Your journey will involve a diverse toolkit, including histology, molecular biology, and the latest advances in transcriptomics and functional genomics.
This is a unique opportunity to receive top-notch training and mentorship, preparing you for a rewarding career in science. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to commit for at least one year, preferably starting right away. In this role, you'll have the chance to contribute to scientific publications, mentor and train new members and manage essential tasks like ordering supplies and upholding Stanford’s safety standards. We want someone who will not just follow procedures but also innovate. You will troubleshoot experiments and recommend new techniques and approaches as you grow in your role. In addition, you'll play a key role in drafting and overseeing animal use protocols, ensuring our research advances ethically and responsibly.
We are seeking a self-driven, quick-learner, detail-oriented and organized individual who desires a scientific career. A solid foundation in basic computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit are essential. If you have advanced skills in R programming, that’s a bonus!
