We are currently seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team in San Diego. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in litigation and a passion for providing support in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary to support our team. You will be involved in a wide variety of tasks, including preparing legal documents, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth office operations. This position requires someone who thrives in a busy setting and can handle multiple responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
In-office position (remote work not available)
Proficient knowledge of litigation processes, including e-filing, trial procedures, and federal/state court rules
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Experience with document management systems
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse team
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure, with a proactive, resourceful, and efficient approach
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
Prepare pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal forms for filing and service
Draft and review court forms such as California Judicial Council Forms
Coordinate scheduling of depositions, hearings, trials, and related meetings with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reporters
Arrange and manage travel arrangements as needed
Maintain and manage Outlook calendar for appointments, conferences, and meetings
Open new cases, perform conflict checks, and prepare engagement letters
Ensure proper document management and organization, saving documents and emails to the document management system
Assist in submitting attorneys' expense reports and manage third-party vendor bills
Provide general administrative support including drafting cover letters for attorney bills and processing check requests

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 annually. The final salary offered will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This is a full-time position that includes access to comprehensive benefits, including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
