We are seeking an Animal Caretaker for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Baltimore, MD .
As the Animal Caretaker , you will provide husbandry and veterinary assistance in a laboratory for small animals, as well as monitor animal health and report findings.
Additional responsibilities include:
Prepare caging for cagewash.
Perform daily animal health observations and report any abnormal conditions or behavior. Monitor and report irregularities in environmental conditions that may affect animals.
Clean assigned animal rooms, facility and animal care equipment, and associated animal facility areas. Obtain weekly animal census.
Ensure logbooks, checklists and other records are completed accurately in a timely fashion.
Provide environmental enrichment feed and other enrichment stimuli and/ or provide behavioral assessments.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Caretaker position:
High school diploma or GED
AALAS certification at the ALAT level within one year of eligibility
1-year related experience in animal care
3 months working with lab animal species, most applicable rodents, preferred
The pay for this position is $17.20 USD per hour.
